What to do, minute by minute

  1. 1. Get comfortable

    0:005:45

Dim the lights, put your phone face-down, and lie down as if you were already going to sleep. Nothing here needs your effort.

  2. 2. Let the words carry you

    5:4511:30

Don't try to follow the story closely. Let the images drift past — half-listening is exactly right.

  3. 3. Soften the body

    11:3017:15

Unclench your jaw, drop your shoulders into the bed, and let your breathing slow on its own.

  4. 4. Drift

If you fall asleep before the end, the session has done its job. If you're still awake, just keep resting — that counts too.

Warm air, wet stone, and green in every direction.

The door stuck, then gave, and the warm wet air came out to meet you. Water beaded on the underside of the glass and let go at unpredictable intervals. Ferns had colonised the drainage channels years ago. A sprinkler somewhere kept a promise every twenty minutes. Nothing in here had ever been in a hurry.
